Saving changes to Personalities info
Fri May 24, 2024 10:22 pm
I have had to change the Passwords of my Personalities several times while fighting setup. I keep finding that the Password has reverted to an older one while my back was turned. I don't see anywhere to save the Personalities info when I've made changes and, it appears, this doesn't happen automatically.

Asking again

No reply yet. Today, after changing Personality passwords yet again, to ones that work, Pandora got shut down due to a M$ update. Restarted it and found that, again, passwords had jumped back to old ones. I shouldn't have to check the passwords every time before checking or sending mail!

Walter,
When ever I make a change to information in a Personality, the changes are saved when the OK button is clicked.
What is the full path to the Main Data Folder? Go to menu item Session | Information, left+click to open the Session Information window, left+click in the window, Crtl+A to select all the information, and then Crtl+C to copy the information to the clipboard. Now Crtl+V to paste the clipboard information between Code tags in the reply to this message. The results will look like this:
- Code:
User Data Folder: E:\Users\butch\Documents\Pandora\Mail\
Mailboxes Count: 384
Total Messages Count: 347691
Attachments Folder: E:\Users\butch\Documents\Pandora\Mail\Attachments\
Inline Images Folder: E:\Users\butch\Documents\Pandora\Mail\Images\
Attachments Count: 0
Application Folder: C:\Program Files\Pandora\
Same Settings for All Users: No
Settings Stored in: File [E:\Users\butch\Documents\Pandora\Mail\Pandora.ini]
Administrators Group: No
Filters Count: 27
DPI: 96%
Process Integrity Level: Medium
This will show where all the data folders are located.

Walter,
From the information provided, the Pandora User Data Folder is specified as \ without any disk specification. This probably means all the Pandora files are at the very beginning of the disk file structure on the default disk. I suspect that Windows will treat this as a protected location.
My suggestion is to stop Pandora, use the Windows File Explorer to create a folder at C'\Pandora\Mail. and move all the Pandora files from \ to the new folder. Then start Pandora and in the Mailbox window, right+click on Mail and then select and left+click on Change, navigate to \Pandora\Mail, select Mail, and left+click on OK.
Regards,
Butch
