Selecting text
Thu Aug 15, 2024 7:09 pm
I am a new user to Pandora, but I've been an Eudora user for decades - literally! I'm a complete fan!
There are some problems in Pandora's body editor. One of them is selecting text. Both the keyboard method and the mouse method.
Mouse method:
When I have to select text extending beyond the window frame, the standard way is to move the mouse to above or below the frame and let the text auto-scroll as needed. Unfortunately...
- When I do that, the auto-scroll always overshoots, such that more text gets selected than I want.
- Then when I try bringing the cursor back into frame, it overshoots again, such that the start of what I want to select scrolls out of sight.
It's exasperating.
Keyboard method
So I tried the keyboard method. I positioned the text cursor at the start of what I wanted to select, then while holding SHIFT, I moved the cursor to the end of what I wanted to select, then left-clicked. Na-da. No hilighting occurred, no selection occurred.
Are there a fixes for these?
If not, are there open tickets about them?
If not, can tickets be opened?
Thanks

Dave,
Place the mouse pointer in the message and press Crtl+A. This will select all text of the message.
If you want to select some text but not all, place the cursor pointer at the beginning of the desired text and Left+Click. Scroll down to the end of the desired text, position the mouse pointer to the correct ending spot, hold down the Shift key, and Left+Click. All text between the two points will be selected.
The above two methods worked for me using a plain text file opened in the Pandora editor. I had trouble with a Reply to a message containing HTML formatted text, and then trying to select some but not all text. You should open a bug report to Brana, menu item Help|Send Feedback|Report a Bug.
Cheers,
Butch
