switching from pop to imap
Mon Apr 06, 2020 10:00 am
I did that with the dominant profile. It's a gmail account,
I thought that all my folder structure (of the pop) wold be reproduced on the gmail account, but instead I get another folder at the top AND the old structure on the side. And I cannot drag-drop any folder from the old structure into the imap one. I have 2 structures, one under "mail" and one under "dominant"
" />
How can I "import/export" the folder structure of mail into dominant ?
Thanks
Simon

System mailboxes (In, Out, Sent, Trash, Junk) are your consolidated mailboxes (for all POP accounts + IMAP accounts for which you checked - Download Messages), not just one singular set for Dominant.
When you assign some IMAP account for Dominant - it already has it's Inbox + plus several other system and user mailboxes. These mailboxes where created by your ISP/Server or 3rd party apps.
If there is no corresponding mailbox for say Sent:
1. Right-click on a root IMAP-item and hit New.
2. Create your Sent IMAP-mailbox.
3. Move messages that were sent on behalf of Dominant from your system (local) Sent mailbox.
4. Optimally create the filter that transfers sent messages (for Dominant) to your IMAP/Sent.

The problem is that I cannot create any new mailbox inside the IMAP dominant account...

What is it Gmail, Verizon, Comcast?
Before creating new mailboxes, make sure IMAP settings are right, primarily SSL option and port numbers. Can you see the Inbox, can you open it?
